Navigate through complex computing challenges
Research computing at Syracuse University is a collaborative effort between the campus research community and technology groups from across campus. The technology groups include both distributed information technology teams as well as support from Information Technology Services (ITS) which provides research computing infrastructure resources.
These campus wide resources include:
- OrangeGrid, a 14,000 core High Throughput Computing cluster.
- Academic Virtual Hosting Environment (AVHE), a private cloud focused on the unique needs of the research community.
- Crush, a 25,000 core virtual private cloud for computationally intense research computing needs.
- SUrge, a computing cluster with over 250 GPUs, supporting GPU enabled applications and allowing development with CUDA and OpenCL.
Within ITS, research computing efforts are led by Chief Technology Officer, Eric Sedore.
