What areas of Research Computing do you work with here at Syracuse University?
I work on Linux infrastructure for OrangeGrid/Crush and assist Researchers with Linux OS and programming issues
What other responsibilities do you have on the SU campus?
I’m am also a Systems Administrator for ITS and help various groups with web servers and such.
How did you get started in Research Computing?
I have worked in Research before at other institutions and find it rewarding. So I jumped at the chance here when asked.
What do you find most interesting about Research Computing?
The amount of resources that are needed. Everyone has to be on the top of their game for these systems to work.
If you could give RC users one piece of advice what would it be?
Learn as much as you can about IT and programming – it will really help
